How you’ll earn your qualification
The great thing about undertaking a CPCAB course is that it’s recognised nationally by the BACP and focused on helping you become the best counsellor you can be
To apply for this course, students must have at least achieved their Level 4 CPCAB Diploma or equivalent.
To pass the course, you have to prove competence in a variety of key counselling and business skills. You will demonstrate this through undertaking internal assessments.
Internal assessment: Includes assignments alongside tutor and peer observations.
To complete the course, you will need 30 hours one-to-one client work with at least three different clients using the CBT model. You will also need to do either group or one-to-one supervision. But don’t worry; we’re here to help. We understand finding a supervisor can be challenging. That’s why we have created relationships with many counselling practices to help you find supervision that’s right for you. So that’s one less thing to worry about!
In addition, you will need to undertake a minimum of 10 hours of personal counselling during the course and have had a minimum of 50 hours of personal counselling by the end of the course.
You will obtain your qualification after demonstrating your competence, passing your assessments, and completing your required practice hours.

Marion Elkin-Greener
Marion is an experienced Licensed Psychologist and Certified addiction therapist with over 25 years of experience specialising in mental health and addictions. Accredited by the British Association of Cognitive Behavioural Therapists and the National Counselling Society, her qualifications underscore her extensive expertise in therapeutic practices.
Outside of tutoring, Marion runs virtual video therapy and clinical supervision from her home on the scenic West Coast of Scotland. She utilises an integrative approach in her practice, combining methods like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Person-Centred Therapy, among others.
Her academic journey in Counselling Psychology began in the United States, where she obtained advanced degrees, equipping her with a solid foundation in various psychotherapeutic modalities.
Passionate about promoting mental health awareness and wellness, Marion is also a brilliant tutor at Astranti Connect, where she teaches at our Glasgow hub and the online Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and the Level 6 Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision.
