CPCAB Fast Track to Level 3

If you’re looking to get started and progress to Level 4 in the quickest possible way, our Fast Track to Level 3 course is the perfect choice.
This intensive, 5-month course starts with our Introduction to Counselling course. This gives you an in-depth introduction to a wide range of counselling skills. This is immediately followed by our full CPCAB Level 3 course, where you will take your counselling skills to the next level and learn how to apply those skills as a professional counsellor. All this is undertaken with the same group of other students based around one of our in-person centres in a single, intensive programme that qualifies you to start a CPCAB Level 4 course.
Our course is specifically designed to help you make a real difference with others, be that in your discussions with family or friends, at work, or in a future career as a counsellor. It’s not just about learning skills, it’s about how to apply those skills to help create lasting change in the lives of those you are working with.
Our fast track course is a personal learning journey for many attendees, too! You won’t simply learn skills to transform the lives of others, but also skills to transform your own life. You’ll apply all the ideas you learn to yourself, and take part in many hours of co-counselling with other participants. Many of our past Level 3 graduates describe our course as a significant transformative experience.
It’s important to note that this course demands a substantial commitment. In total, you’ll get 10 days of live, in-person teaching at one of our centres, 6 full days of live online teaching, 16 online evenings and be expected to undertake the Level 3 assessments. If you choose this route, it’s important to be confident you have the time available and are ready to work hard.
Our tutors will be on hand to support you throughout the course. They will give you personal feedback on the application of your skills and be there to support you as you learn and progress personally, too.

Our Fast-Track to Level 3 programme is an accelerated pathway that combines the essential stages of your counselling training. This seamless course is designed to rapidly build your skills, taking you from the core principles of counselling and support to the practical competencies of a professional.
We believe that adaptable counsellors are the most effective, so you won’t be limited to a single ‘one-size-fits-all’ method of therapy. Instead, you’ll explore a variety of key counselling theories – including ideas from person-centred therapy, short-form brief therapy (SFBT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). These are combined into a framework that helps you to structure your counselling sessions in a way that gets results.
Your journey begins in our Introduction to Counselling course where you will develop a foundational ‘therapeutic toolkit’, mastering how to help and support others to create change. As you move on to the CPCAB Level 3 course you will learn to navigate the professional side of the role, mastering ethical practice, client contracting, setting boundaries, and knowing when to make referrals. The course then quickly progresses on, teaching you how to foster real and lasting change by exploring deeper topics like thoughts, beliefs and emotions, and learning how to effectively create change using tools such as perspective taking and exception seeking.
By completing this fast-track course, you will gain the comprehensive skills and robust foundation required to advance directly to your Level 4 studies.

How you’ll earn your qualification
Your route to BACP accreditation!
The great thing about undertaking a CPCAB course is that it’s recognised nationally and focused on helping you become the best counsellor you can be!
CPCAB courses are recognised by BACP (the UK’s leading counselling membership body), so the 90 formal learning hours you pick up on the course will count towards the 450 minimum hours of training required for membership. Membership of an organisation like BACP (or equivalent body) is vital if you wish to become a respected counsellor and work in professional practice.
To pass the course, you must prove competence in various key counselling skills and theories. This is primarily assessed practically as you progress through the course – the tutor will gain evidence through observing you demonstrating the skills as you undertake exercises and practical sessions. In addition, during the course, you will complete regular exploration of your learning, undertake a self-review of your own learning, give feedback and write short essays. These are also used to gain evidence of your competence.
Once you have demonstrated your competence and passed your assessments, you will obtain your level 3 qualification.
