How you’ll earn your qualification
The great thing about undertaking a CPCAB course is that it’s recognised nationally by the BACP and focused on helping you become the best counsellor you can be!
To apply for this course, students must have at least achieved their Level 4 CPCAB Diploma or equivalent. We also strongly advise that you complete level 5 beforehand too, but this is not mandatory.
To pass the course, you have to prove competence in a variety of key supervisory skills. The tutor will gain evidence through observing you demonstrating knowledge and skills as you undertake exercises and practice supervision sessions. During the course, you will complete regular exploration of your learning, undertake a self-review of your learning, write assignments and do a case presentation.
You will also need to provide records of peer feedback and a report from your supervisors.
You will also need to complete 15 hours of supervision practice either in independent practice or in the role of supervisor in an agency setting, as well as undertaking a minimum of 5 hours of supervisory supervision during the course.
At the end of the course, you will need to complete a case review, which will then be assessed by CPCAB.
Once you have passed the assessment you will obtain your certificate from CPCAB.
